And Bill Bowden Makes Four of a Kind

December 5th, 2008

The Northwest Arkansas Council of Corporations and Wealthy Business Executives now has all its ducks in a row. It began last year when they drafted and pushed through legislation to authorize creation of Regional Mobility Authorities with amendments that did not require voter approval of increases in tolls or fees. Now they are lining up the rest of the pieces to get what they want from their subsidiary Northwest Arkansas Regional Mobility Authority, specifically easy picking local sales tax dol

Windows 7 expected in beta after first of the year

December 5th, 2008

While there was initial speculation that a public beta was a ways off yet, it seems Microsoft will be cranking out the first public beta of Windows 7 sometime after the first of the year, as just confirmed by Keith Combs of Technet. Those who attend the Microsoft Developer’s Conference starting on January 13th should gain access to DVDs with the new Windows 7 beta on it. Those who attend these events in Chicago and Minneapolis will most likely be the first to receive copies. Even though dubbe

XAGE - New Adventure Game Creation Tool

December 5th, 2008

There is a new adventure game creation tool that is bound to hit the Internet any time now developed by a guy going by the name Clarvalon. The new creation tool, which is called XAGE (XNA Adventure Game Engine) is going to be using Microsoft’s XNA framework, which is good for a lot of developers who don’t want to learn a new programming language, but still would love to create adventure games. Now, XNA is being used on a number of different platforms, including the Xbox 360, Microsoft’s Zun

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time to Hit US Shores in Spring 2009

December 5th, 2008

Head Banger Is Now Available on Xbox LIVE Community Games

December 5th, 2008

Several friends and I work together to write “indie” video games under the brand Ganksoft Entertainment.  You may recall that for Maker Faire 2007, we created a very simple rhythm-based music game (think Rock Band or Dance Dance Revolution) using XNA called Head Banger. With Microsoft’s official release of Xbox LIVE Community Games with the New Xbox Experience, we decided to blow the dust off of Head Banger, add a couple songs, integrate it bit more with Community Games and XNA 3.0 and releas
